Nintendo sells 400,000 Wii U consoles in first week

According to Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, 400,000 Wii U consoles were sold in the first week since its launch in North America. Compare that with the Wii, which in its first week back in 2006 sold 600,000 units.

Nintendo has said that it hopes to sell 5.5 million Wii U's by April 2013, if they can keep momentum up they may well reach this target.
