Wii Sports makes triumphant return to Wii U as an eShop title "Wii Sports Club"

Nintendo announced that Wii Sports has been updated for the Wii U and will be available in the eShop on November 7th. Here are the details:

  • Wii Sports Club is the title
  • Features the 5 sports from the original Wii Sports, updated for HD on the Wii U
  • Allows online multiplayer mode
  • You join a local club, based on geography, and compete on the leaderboards
  • Tennis, Bowling, Baseball, Golf & Boxing
  • Works exclusively with Motion Plus controllers
  • Communication during matches is done using integrated Miiverse functionality
  • Wii Sports Club is a hub from which you can make in game purchases of each sport
  • Tennis and Bowling available at start on November 7
  • Two ways to purchase: Club Pass - each software individually for $9.99 each or a Day Pass - giving you 24 hour access to all the games for $1.99
  • When you first start up the Wii Sports Club software you will get a free Day Pass, letting you try it out for 24 hours
